In the years following the Asian economic crisis, the hospitality industry experienced rapid growth. With many quality hotels and restaurant being opened, not enough professionals were available to fulfil the need of these establishments. This obvious gap was the foundation on which JP decided to launch Le Bake Shop, a wholesale Bakery supplying some of the best hotels and restaurants in Bali and Lombok. Today, “Le Bake Shop” continues training young pastry chefs and bakers that are now working in some of the best hotels in Indonesia and overseas.

Bali based entrepreneur Jean-Philippe Petit, also known as JP, is a consummate professional of the hospitality industry. JP’s career span over 30 years, travelling through Europe, Africa and Asia discovering many culinary worlds. In 1992, JP arrived in Indonesia and worked in the kitchens of both the Jakarta Hilton and the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta.
